livin’ life

Today God has answered one big prayer of mine that had been on my mind ever since I’ve gotten here. I won’t bore you with the details, but the whole process has showed me a lot about His sovereignty and His nature in general. Prayer really is the muscle that moves His hand. Prayer actually works. When we talk to God, He is listening. He cares about what we care about, and He cares about them much more than we ever could. And He loves me more than I could ever understand.

Driving home today I thought about what my life would be like if I didn’t have God to turn to – to have Him there to talk to, to ask Him to fill the voids in my life. This world has always left me wanting something more…whether it has to do with the newest music, worldly knowledge, fashion, movies, sex, social acceptance, etc. It’s like a never-ending pit or an animal that’s always hungry. When I feed into those desires, the desire just grows stronger…it’s never satisfied. Either I can spend my time looking to this world for fulfillment, or I can choose Life.

That’s the juice of what’s been on my heart for a long time, and today God really revealed what He’s been doing this whole time in regards to that.

“In You I find my rest
In You I find my death
In You I find my all and my emptiness
But it all makes sense”
