For our final project I would like to create a website for incoming freshman and parents. The site will have 5 pages. One page will be about different dining halls on campus and student reviews. Another page will be about upcoming events that freshmen should know about. I plan to interview current freshmen students about advice, tips and their life as a freshman for the testimonials page. Lastly, there will be an about page and a contact page.
For our next assignment I would like to create a website for my church, Family Worship Center. The church has never had a website and they don’t have an online presence. So, I would like to run their social media and create a website for the church.

I’ve looked at different church websites and I really like Long Hollow‘s website. It’s very easy to navigate and it’s not confusing. I would like my site to look similar. A majority of the people in the church are older in age, so I want something that will be easy for them to navigate if they choose.
One of my favorite websites is Time. I am constantly reading news articles from various websites, and Time has been one of the few that I regularly visit. The site is easy to navigate, the content is great and it isn’t congested with ads.
The 10 Principles of Effective Web Design says, “As web-sites provide both static and dynamic content, some aspects of the user interface attract attention more than others do. Obviously, images are more eye-catching than the text — just as the sentences marked as bold are more attractive than plain text.” Time does a really great job of having images and links on their homepage that capture the reader’s attention. It is easy to distinguish the text. Certain sentences are bold as they should be.
My favorite thing about Time is that they truly have strived for simplicity. I think it’s amazing that everything that is posted on the site is posted with WordPress. The site is simple and easy to use.
